I was a licensed New York attorney, practicing law and serving as CFO for one of the most prominent figures in the taxi industry. I was convicted on federal charges. I served time at MCC — the same facility that held El Chapo, the same facility where Jeffrey Epstein would later die — and then at Danbury Federal Prison Camp, where 12 of the 180 women were attorneys.

I was not reckless. I was not indifferent to the law. I justified my way into each decision, exactly the way intelligent, high-functioning professionals do. That mechanism — incremental, invisible, convincing — is the subject of every talk I give.
